About the role
Ucanly for Education is an AI career platform that helps Indian students and freshers get hired. Students rely on it for courses, a personalised Career Roadmap, the AI Mentor, Resume Lab, their Hire Readiness Score, and job and internship applications. When something breaks, a student might lose course progress or miss an application, so quality matters.
As a QA Automation Engineer, you will make sure new releases work before students see them. That means testing new features by hand, then writing automated tests so they keep working.
What you will work on
- Test plans for features such as course enrolment, payments, certificates, roadmaps, and job applications
- Automated end-to-end tests for the most important student and recruiter journeys, such as sign-up to first course, and profile to job application
- API tests that check responses, error handling, and edge cases
- Testing AI features such as the AI Mentor and Resume Lab for broken, empty, or clearly wrong responses
- Regression testing before each release
- Clear bug reports that developers can reproduce and fix quickly
How you will work
Ucanly releases often, so tests need to be fast and reliable. You will join feature discussions early to point out edge cases, and work with developers to run tests on every pull request. You will own the test suite and decide what should be automated and what is better tested by hand.
Who this is for
Freshers or engineers with up to two years of experience who enjoy finding what breaks, write clear bug reports, and can code well enough to build and maintain a test suite.

What you'll be doing
- Write test plans and test cases for new features based on requirements and designs
- Build and maintain automated end-to-end tests for the web platform
- Write API tests covering expected responses, errors, and edge cases
- Test AI-powered features for failures such as empty, malformed, or off-topic responses
- Run regression tests before releases and report results clearly
- Log bugs with clear steps to reproduce, expected behaviour, and actual behaviour
- Work with developers to run automated tests in the CI pipeline on every pull request
What we're looking for
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Basic programming ability in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java
- Familiarity with at least one test automation tool such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
- Understanding of how to test REST APIs using a tool such as Postman or a code-based test framework
- Attention to detail and the ability to write clear, reproducible bug reports
- Familiarity with Git
- Able to work from the Ucanly office in BTM Layout, Bengaluru
