About the role
Ucanly for Education is an AI career platform that helps Indian students and freshers get hired. It serves courses and video lessons, runs AI features such as the AI Mentor and Resume Lab, calculates Hire Readiness Scores, and powers a jobs and internships portal. Traffic tends to rise around placement season, new course launches, and hiring drives, so the platform needs to scale up when many students log in at once and scale down afterwards.
As a DevOps and Cloud Engineer Intern, you will help keep the platform running, easy to deploy, and affordable.
What you will work on
- CI/CD pipelines that build, test, and deploy code on every merge
- Docker images and container configuration for the platform's services
- Infrastructure defined as code, so environments can be recreated reliably
- Monitoring, alerts, and dashboards that show when something is wrong
- Tracking the cost of cloud resources and AI model usage, and finding waste
- Security basics such as secrets management, access control, and dependency updates
How you will work
Ucanly takes a security-first approach. All infrastructure changes go through pull requests and review, the same as application code. You will write short runbooks for anything you set up, so the rest of the team can operate it.

Students and recent graduates who are comfortable on the Linux command line, have deployed something to a cloud provider, and want to learn how production infrastructure is run.

What you'll be doing
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for the web platform and backend services
- Write and maintain Dockerfiles and container configuration
- Manage cloud resources using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerts, and help respond when alerts fire
- Track cloud and AI API costs and suggest ways to reduce them
- Help with secrets management, access control, and keeping dependencies up to date
- Write runbooks and documentation for the systems you work on
What we're looking for
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- Comfort using the Linux command line and writing basic shell scripts
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, even from a personal project
- Basic understanding of Docker and containers
- Understanding of networking basics such as DNS, HTTP, ports, and load balancers
- Familiarity with Git
- Able to work from the Ucanly office in BTM Layout, Bengaluru
