Ucanly for Education is an AI career platform that helps Indian students and freshers get hired. Every day, students generate data as they enrol in courses, complete lessons, hit roadmap milestones, use the AI Mentor, score their resumes in Resume Lab, and apply to jobs. Recruiters generate data too, as they post roles and shortlist candidates.
As a Data Engineer Intern, you will help build the pipelines that move this data into a place where analysts and ML engineers can use it. Good analysis, accurate Hire Readiness Scores, and useful job matching all depend on data that is complete, correct, and on time.
What you will work on
- Pipelines that load data from application databases and event tracking into the data warehouse
- SQL transformations that turn raw events into clean tables, such as daily active students, roadmap progress, and application funnels
- Scheduling and orchestration so pipelines run reliably and failures are noticed
- Data quality tests that catch missing, duplicated, or out-of-range values
- Documentation of tables and columns so others know what the data means
- Handling personal data carefully, including access controls and removing data that is not needed
How you will work
Pipelines are code, so they go through pull requests, review, and tests like any other code. Ucanly takes a security-first approach to data. You will work closely with the analysts and ML engineers who use the tables you build.

What you'll be doing
- Build and maintain batch pipelines that load data from application databases and event tracking into the warehouse
- Write SQL transformations that produce clean, well documented tables for analysis and modelling
- Schedule pipelines with an orchestration tool and set up alerts for failures
- Add data quality tests for completeness, uniqueness, and valid values
- Apply access controls and handle personal student data carefully
- Document tables and columns so analysts and engineers can use them correctly
- Help investigate and fix data issues reported by analysts
What we're looking for
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- Strong SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, and window functions
- Working knowledge of Python
- Basic understanding of data modelling concepts such as fact and dimension tables
- Familiarity with a tool such as Airflow, dbt, or a cloud data warehouse is a plus
- Familiarity with Git
- Able to work from the Ucanly office in BTM Layout, Bengaluru
