Is Ucanly legit? Ucanly is a real, registered-address technology company in BTM Layout, Bengaluru, listed as an IBM Silver Business Partner, with written policies and certificates you can verify by QR code. But you should not take our word for it. This article gives you a ten-point checklist to verify Ucanly yourself in about 20 minutes, and the same checklist works for any edtech company you are considering.
Asking "is this fake or real?" before paying is not rude. It is smart. Plenty of students in India have lost money to programs that looked polished online and disappeared later. A legitimate company should make verification easy, so here is how to do it.
Why verification beats reputation
Reputation takes years to build, and Ucanly was founded in 2025. That means you will find fewer reviews, fewer alumni posts and fewer forum threads about us than about older brands. We cannot change our age.
What we can do is make every important claim checkable. The principle we work by is simple:
Say plainly where things stand, close the distance, then verify that it worked.
That applies to us too. So instead of asking you to trust us, here are the checks.
The 10-point Ucanly verification checklist
Work through these in order. Tick each one only when you have seen the evidence yourself.
1. A real, published office address. Our address is 15th Main, 757/C, 7th Cross Rd, Mahadeshwara Nagar, BTM Layout 2nd Stage, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560076. Search it on a map. A company that only gives a phone number and an email is harder to hold accountable.
2. An independent partner listing. Ucanly appears in the IBM PartnerPlus directory as an IBM Silver Business Partner. This is a listing on IBM's own website, not ours. Be precise about what it means: the partnership is not a certification of any course or programme. It confirms the company exists and has a business relationship with IBM.
3. A named legal entity. Our business division's website, ucanly.com, carries the line "© 2026 Ucanly Infotech LLP". A named entity is someone you can hold responsible. More on this in our article on Ucanly Infotech LLP.
4. A LinkedIn company page with real people. Visit Ucanly on LinkedIn. Look at who lists Ucanly as their employer. Real people with real work histories are hard to fake at scale.
5. Employer reviews on a third-party site. The AmbitionBox page for Ucanly Infotech is where employees can review the company. These are workplace reviews, not course reviews, but they tell you whether a real organisation stands behind the brand.
6. Payments through a recognised gateway. Payments on ucanly.io go through Razorpay, using UPI, card or net banking, with card EMI where your bank supports it. You should never be asked to send money to a personal UPI ID or a personal bank account.
7. Written policies you can read before paying. Check that the pricing, refund policy, terms of service and privacy policy pages exist and are specific. Refund requests are accepted within 7 days of purchase; read the full refund policy before you pay, because that document is what applies.
8. No job guarantee. This one surprises people, but it is a strong sign of honesty. Our FAQ says: "We do not offer a guaranteed placement." A company that guarantees jobs in exchange for a fee is promising something no training provider controls.
9. Certificates with QR verification. Every Ucanly certificate has a QR code that anyone can check at ucanly.io/certificates. If a certificate cannot be verified independently, an employer has no reason to trust it.
10. Free ways to talk to a human first. You can take the free aptitude test without logging in, and book a free counsellor call before paying anything. If you prefer, you can also visit our Bengaluru office. Call ahead on +91 74112 62233 so someone is there to meet you.
Red flags to watch for with any edtech company
Our checklist above tells you what good looks like. These are the warning signs. If you see two or more, slow down.
- "100% job guarantee" or "guaranteed package" claims. Hiring depends on employers, the market and your interviews.
- Pressure to pay today, such as "only 2 seats left, offer ends tonight" with no written offer.
- Payment to a personal account or a UPI ID that is not the company's.
- No refund policy, or one you can only see after paying.
- Certificates with no way to verify them.
- Auto-renewing subscriptions that are hard to cancel.
- Reviews that are all five stars, posted in bursts, from accounts with no history.
- Nobody will tell you the fee until you have shared personal details and sat through a long sales call.
On that last point, we want to be transparent: the fee for our Professional Training, Internship & Placement Program 2026 is shared on selection, after a free application and an aptitude test. Your written offer states the fee, deposit and EMI options, and you get 7 days to confirm. The ₹2,000 seat deposit is refundable in full if the cohort does not start on the date in your offer. You can read more in our fees explainer.
Questions to ask on any counsellor call
A short call can tell you a lot. Here is a message you can copy and send to any edtech counsellor, including ours:
Before I decide, please confirm in writing: the full fee and whether anything renews automatically; the link to your refund policy; whether any job is guaranteed; how an employer can verify the certificate; and the company's registered name and address.
A legitimate company will answer every point clearly. If the answers are vague, or if you are told "don't worry about that," treat it as a red flag.
What we will not do
Being clear about what we avoid is part of being trustworthy.
- We do not guarantee placement, and we do not fabricate or guarantee specific employer names or placement rates.
- We do not auto-renew. Every payment is one-time.
- We do not make your resume public. Resumes and results are private by default, and recruiters see your profile only if you opt in.
- We do not post fake reviews, on our site, on Reddit or anywhere else. Read more in Ucanly reviews: how to judge honestly.
